Why is a circular pizza put in a square box ..then cut into triangles ?

For the same reason a cake is.

Isauasalidge type where the hypotenuse is not equal to the sum of the square of the box's other 2 sides,

It maybe more cost effective to manufacture square boxes as opposed to round ones?
Ive never had a pre cut triangular, pizza from a supermarket Cut them yourself to whatever shape you want!

You are absolutely right about the fact that square boxes are cheaper to make and store but, why not make a pizza square as well ? because a round pizza is cheaper and less ingredients, work it out,
the square area of a 9 inch square pizza 9x9 = 81 inches sq
the square area of a 9 inch round pizza is 4.5 squared X 3.142 = 63.625 inches sq,,
